What you'll be doing...

As a Supply Chain Senior Analyst you will support all transportation activity related to fulfillment for Retail/Indirect/Consumer channel orders shipping from our outsourced Distribution Centers. Act as liaison between Verizon and transportation carriers, tracking/monitoring and reporting on all Retail/Indirect/Consumer channel shipments. Analyze and identify operational and cost savings opportunities related to shipping processes and transportation. Responsible for enhancing customer experience order success, cost/claims reductions, and reducing carrier's time in transit. You will also be responsible for maintaining, identifying, developing and modifying transportation reports for SCM ensuring all information is accurate. Support various SCM projects related to distribution and transportation.

  • Managing transportation carriers daily to ensure all contractual service levels are met.

  • Ensuring all orders meet the criteria required to ship successfully and support the fallout.

  • Providing transportation support to 3PL and internal partners, including BOL creation, customer order coordination, hazmat support, and product launch/surge events.

  • Confirming the best-cost transportation methods are arranged to meet the expected delivery times.

  • Providing communication and supporting to internal teams regarding transportation policies and processes.

  • Supporting carrier shipping account maintenance.

  • Facilitating and leading project meetings with internal and external partners.

  • Analyzing and leading implementation of operational improvement processes.

  • Presenting and communicating project updates/outcomes to Verizon Leadership teams.

  • Inputting, monitoring, & analyzing transportation metrics & KPI's.

  • Developing new reporting to align with continually changing business directives.

  • Collaborating with team members to maintain and create SOP for new/existing processes.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key partners and field teams to support transportation initiatives.

  • Maintaining on-site presence at our Distribution Center to observe processes and identify opportunities for business efficiencies.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain or a related field.

  • Experience managing third party vendor management staff on daily performance issues.

  • Experience leads projects and handles multiple tasks to meet required deadlines on time.

  • Experience with small parcel transportation.

  • Excellent computer skills, including all MS Office products Net Ace, SAP, ITTS and inventory systems.

  • Experience creating and analyzing reporting trends and performance.

  • Experience identifying errors in reporting received from other departments or vendor contacts.

  • Organizational, interpersonal and follow up skills.

  • Experience communicating effectively throughout multiple levels of the organization.
