Position Summary: The Children's Aid Society runs a 53-day camp facility in Chappaqua, NY. The Summer Day Camp serves 250 campers and has 100 staff. The program operates daily, Monday through Friday, Closed on July 4^th.

Location: The job site is located at 431 Quaker Road, Chappaqua, NY: 28 miles north of the Bronx in Northern Westchester County, NY.

Wage: $50-$55/hour Dates: 6/27/23 to 8/09/23, no weekends, closed on July 4^th and July 5^th, hours are 9am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities:

The Summer Day Camp Nurse is responsible to manage the health needs of the campers and provide first aid and medical assessment of injuries consistent with licensure:

Essential Duties:

• Staff the Camp Health Center and provide first aid care and assessment of injuries and illnesses for campers and staff.
• Determine which cases need advanced medical care and which do not in accordance with the agency policies set out by the Medical Director.
• Administer medications consistent with the physician's orders.
• Maintain the Health Log to document all visits of campers to the Health Center as required by the Department of Health.
• Manage the Health Center: supplies, waiting area, privacy concerns for certain kinds of exams.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding injuries and illnesses. The content of this communication is to provide medical assessment. Communication regarding the circumstances of the injuries is handled by the Camp Director.
• Communicate with parents regarding medications if anything is out of order.
• Provide screening of camper files to cross check the medical alerts list.
• Supervise the Health Aide.
• Work two overnights for the Summer Camp

Minimum Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse License in New York
• 5 years of experience with children
• Certified for CPR after 8/09/23
• Certified in Advanced First Aid or documented experience in emergency care.
