Our Environmental team is rapidly expanding and is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Manager - Environmental Scientist ideally located in either our Lakewood, CO; Austin, TX; or Chicago, IL offices; however, other locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The successful candidate will report to Mott MacDonald's environmental lead in Salt Lake City, UT.

Resonsibilities include:

  • Project management activities including the oversight of project teams responsible for environmental site assessment, wetland delineations, threatened & endangered species habitat assessment, field surveys, NEPA documentation, environmental report/permit development, constraint mapping, and public involvement support.
  • Provide senior-level technical and project management support for projects, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, senior review of deliverables, etc.
  • Help maintain and develop relationships with key clients and agency staff.
  • Preparing proposals, cost estimates, and staffing plans for environmental projects and services.
  • Preparing and reviewing permit applications and conducting consultation with agency staff as required under Sections 404 and 401 of the Clean Water Act, Sections 7 and 10 of the Endangered Species Act, reviewing wetland delineations and biological inventories; conducting routing studies and impact analysis for NEPA documents.

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant environmental science or biological discipline; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience, five (5) of which shall includeProject management or a group leadership role.
    • The successful candidate must be able to work independently and successfully manage multiple tasks, exhibits scientific writing skills, and have experience and a background in wetland science, botany, and/or soils and hydrology. The successful candidate must
  • Experience permitting large-scale energy projects and conducting field surveys.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills, documentation, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required. The ability to prepare and interpret complex reports, recognize problems, and define and evaluate solutions is required.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work on diverse projects, possess a high level of self-motivation, and demonstrate ability to successfully execute field tasks.

In compliance with the Equal Pay Transparency Rules for Colorado, the expected salary range is from $150,000-$165,000. Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
